Welcome to my teaching e-portfolio. I am a wife, mother, scholar and educator. I currently lecture in the department of Writing & Language Studies at The University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley while completing my PhD coursework in English Studies at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. My research interests include: themes and rhetoric of travel, distance and journey in fiction, poetry and nonfiction; postcolonialism; displacement rhetorics; and geopolitics. My work on travel writing has been featured in Watchung Review (2017), Coldnoon: Travel Poetics (2015) and The Journal of South Texas English Studies (2013).

When I am not with my wonderful family, I am usually writing in my head, as I run for miles.
